Our Legal Team advises WTW on legal matters ranging from transactions and contract negotiations to managing litigation risks and handling government and internal investigations. The Legal Team works closely with other colleagues in privacy, risk and compliance roles to enable the company to meet its strategic goals in a sustainable way that limits legal risk and costs, limits litigation exposure and ensures compliance.

Qualifications

Requirements

Everyone in the team will be there to help you learn and grow throughout your 2 years on the apprenticeship programme. To transform your tomorrow with WTW, you’ll need:

  • Five GCSEs between 9 to 4 (A*
    - C) including English and Maths, along with three A-Levels equivalent to 96 UCAS points

  • An excellent command of written and spoken English

  • Attention to detail, quality and accuracy.

  • The ability to prioritise and organise tasks

  • The ability to learn new systems and processes

  • An adaptable approach to meeting changing demands and tight deadlines

  • To be a quick learner and a natural team player

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work styles:

During your first year at WTW you’ll spend four days each week in our Ipswich office, collaborating with and learning from the people around you, and a fifth day will be your study day. After you’ve completed 12 months with us, we’re open to hybrid working for this role, which means working at least three days a week in our Ipswich office.

Responsibilities

This two-year programme is both an opportunity to make an impact and your first step towards a lasting career within our highly regarded in-house international legal team. Working closely with experienced colleagues in Ipswich and across our global team, you’ll:

  • Review a range of legal contracts between WTW and our clients, suppliers and insurer trading partners

  • Study one day a week and work towards a legal qualification

  • Be guided by your manager and assigned mentor.

From the start, you’ll benefit from on-the-job training and a highly competitive study package, fully supported by WTW and our official government-approved training provider.

Successfully complete this two-year apprenticeship and you’ll have the opportunity to move onto our four-year solicitor qualification course under which you will achieve an LLB (Hons) in Law and Legal Practice and sit the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) 1 and 2 in the final year of the course.
