Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary professional maintenance team. The role supports a safe environment for all service users, staff and visitors across our Suffolk & Norfolk sites based in Ipswich.
The successful candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic, self‑motivated and confident working as part of a team that delivers comprehensive maintenance services in a varied environment.
Main duties of the job- Carry out routine, planned and reactive tasks to ensure buildings and equipment are safe and fully compliant.
- Assist the maintenance team with planned, routine and reactive maintenance across the estate.
- Participate in the repair and maintenance of a wide range of buildings and equipment.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with Health and Safety and other relevant legislation.

Qualifications- Full UK driving licence.
- City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or building field.
- Minimum two years work experience in a mechanical, electrical or building field, demonstrating versatility and flexibility.
- Practical experience of general maintenance.
- Experience working in a mental health or secure services hospital environment.
- Understanding of the inter‑relationship between building trades, electrical and mechanical services.
- Understanding of Health & Safety regulations within the workplace.
