About the Role

If you are a Senior Instrument Technician ready to step up into real ownership of maintenance, safety, and team performance, this is an operational site offering genuine responsibility. You will be supporting a well-established organization in the energy sector and will take charge of day-to-day maintenance delivery, team leadership, and plant reliability on a live site.

About the Site

This is a major site within the energy security infrastructure, operating at a high tempo year-round. The plant follows a seasonal cycle: building up capacity in the quieter months and running at peak output during winter demand. The site performs well, handling a live pipeline of maintenance, shutdown, and improvement projects to maintain output. Ongoing investment in the plant's future means increasing demands on the maintenance and engineering teams as the operation scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and supervising a team of technicians and contractors
  • Driving maintenance performance, safety, and compliance standards
  • Managing day-to-day maintenance activities, shutdowns, and planning
  • Working across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
  • Using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to plan, prioritize, and track work
  • Supporting plant improvements and reliability initiatives
  • Ensuring all work meets regulatory and safety requirements
  • Supporting reporting, scheduling, and resource planning

Requirements

  • Background in instrumentation or electrical at NVQ/apprenticeship level
  • Experience in a supervisory or lead technician role
  • Strong knowledge of plant maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, and control & instrumentation systems
  • Experience in energy, process, or industrial environments
  • Understanding of ATEX/DSEAR and hazardous area requirements
  • Experience with shutdowns, maintenance planning, and CMMS systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

If you are looking to take real ownership in a dynamic and vital site within the energy sector, this is your opportunity to lead, develop your team, and ensure plant reliability and safety.
