Location:
Rotherham, S65 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Join our team as a Caretaker (Estates and Facilities Assistant) at the College, playing a crucial role in ensuring that all buildings are available, accessible, and suitable for learners, staff, and visitors. This position is vital for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming campus environment. Your professionalism and friendly interaction will significantly influence the perception of our College campus.
Day-to-day of the role:
Open and maintain the security of College premises, ensuring that premises and equipment remain secure throughout the day. Prepare rooms for use, whether for curriculum activities or meetings, and assist with room moves or furniture re-arrangement as needed. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of college buildings and grounds by removing refuse and emptying bins. Promote general health and safety by keeping corridors and fire exits clear of any spills, trips, or hazards.
Complete the Group’s compliance and health and safety checks in a formatted and timely manner. Provide porterage services ensuring that goods, documents, post, and parcels are delivered promptly to the correct areas within and outside the College. Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks as scheduled. Respond to College emergencies, including evacuating buildings during fire drills, directing emergency services as appropriate, and responding to equipment or facility breakdowns.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting. General maintenance experience including:
Painting and decorating Carpentry and handyman tasks General building maintenance Basic plumbing repairs Health and Safety Awareness:
Understanding of health and safety regulations Risk assessment knowledge Fire safety procedures Cleaning and Grounds Maintenance:
Adherence to cleaning standards and procedures Effective waste management Gardening and groundskeeping skills Winter maintenance capabilities, such as gritting paths and snow clearance Benefits: 26 days leave per annum plus bank holidays Stable and secure full-time, permanent position.
