Registered Manager - EBD Children's Home

Location: Ipswich, Suffolk Contract: Full-time, Permanent Reports to: Responsible Individual / Director Regulatory Framework: Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 & Quality Standards

? Role Purpose

The Registered Manager leads a residential children's home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The role ensures the home provides a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive. This includes full regulatory compliance, staff leadership, safeguarding oversight, and delivering consistently high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Provide strong, visible leadership to the staff team, modelling best practice and trauma-informed approaches.

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring a stable, child-centred environment.

• Recruit, train, supervise, and develop staff, ensuring high performance and retention.

• Lead team meetings, reflective practice sessions, and performance reviews.

Regulatory Compliance

• Maintain the home's registration with Ofsted and ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.

• Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring continuous improvement.

• Produce high-quality reports, including Regulation 45 reports and internal audits.

• Ensure all policies, procedures, and risk assessments are up to date and effectively implemented.
