Tenancy Services are currently seeking to recruit a Floating Housing Officer for 25 hours per week on a permanent basis within the Tenancy Management Team.

This is an ideal opportunity for you to further develop your skills in a high paced tenancy management environment. The role involves supporting colleagues in assisting tenants to successfully sustain their tenancy alongside actioning compliance regulations and taking a multi‑agency approach to facilitate this.

This is a varied and busy role requiring you to support the achievement of stretching targets around property visits, tenancy and estate management including health and safety regulations as well as empty property turnaround.

In order to ensure you make the most of this experience we will provide you with on‑going support within the team as well as on‑going training.

Hours of work are 25 hours per week, between Monday and Friday.

Day to day

The Housing Officer team are based in Grafton House, but Ipswich Borough Council operates an agile working policy and a large proportion of the work will be out visiting your customers. We operate a Duty Rota where Housing Officers are available to answer queries.

About you

Being educated to A level or equivalent and ideally holding or working towards a CIH Professional Qualification, you will also need a valid driving licence and be able to climb stairs, in order to visit customers in their homes. Previous experience in this role or a similar role would be advantageous.

You will need to demonstrate good communication skills, as well as showing excellent organisational skills to be able to prioritise and plan your own workload using a variety of computer systems.

You will also need to stay professional whilst being calm and positive when faced with challenging situations and be able to build strong and effective relationships with a wide range of customers and Partner Agencies.
