Engineering Compliance Manager

Overview

Purpose of the Role:
Freightliner's Safety Management System and Maintenance Policy define the standards for maintaining the traction and rolling stock for which Freightliner is the Entity in Charge of Maintenance (ECM). As ECM, Freightliner must review policy application via audits. The Compliance Manager T&RS is key to delivering these requirements. The role requires managing competence management and audit activities for the Engineering team to support Freightliner's ECM responsibilities and the Safety Management System, and leading the Freightliner T&RS Supplier Approval process.

• Lead and direct the audit process and the delivery of the audit plan to enable compliance monitoring and process improvement.
• Ensure the practical adherence of maintenance and overhaul activity to the documented process.
• Develop the annual audit plan and review audit outputs to develop a risk-based approach to future plans.
• Lead the development and application of Freightliner's competency assessment policy for traction & rolling stock staff.
• Develop and manage the Freightliner Supplier Assurance Policy for T&RS.
• Through surveillance, interview, site visit and audit, verify that company engineering standards and statutory legislation are applied to Freightliner traction & rolling stock engineering assets.
• Review and develop engineering standards/policies, interpret for Freightliner use, ensuring alignment with applicable legislation, industry codes of practice and group standards.
• Lead and direct the Competence and Audit Engineers to ensure required standards are delivered, reviewed and updated as required.
• Carry out other duties as directed by the Professional Head of T&RS Engineering.
• The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you may be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the role within the organisation's objectives.

• At least 5 years broadly based experience of traction & rolling stock engineering.
• At least 3 years' experience in supervisory or man-management and the ability to make sound engineering decisions.
• Relevant qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Lead Assessor Qualification (D32, A1 or Equivalent).
• Lead Auditor Qualification (e.g., LRQA or Equivalent).
• Personal Track Safety Certificate.
