Job Description 3-month contract role with a local authority Summary- This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, offering a rate of £455.50 per day (Umbrella). The purpose of the role is to lead and deliver strategic SEND, inclusion, and social care improvement projects aimed at enhancing outcomes for children, young people, and families. The postholder will manage multiple projects, drive service improvement, support organizational change, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of local priorities and national reforms.
- Lead the planning, delivery, implementation, and evaluation of SEND, inclusion, and children's services projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring milestones, objectives, and deliverables are achieved.
- Support the implementation of national reforms and local improvement programmes across Children's Services.
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for service improvement and innovation.
- Use data, evidence, and performance information to inform project delivery and decision‑making.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, risks, dependencies, and outcomes, taking corrective action where required.
- Maintain project governance arrangements and provide regular updates to senior leaders and programme boards.
Essential Experience Required
- Significant experience managing projects, programmes, or service improvement initiatives within a public sector environment.
- Experience working within Children's Services, SEND, Education, Social Care, or related services.
- Experience delivering organisational change and transformation projects.
- Experience managing project risks, budgets, resources, and performance.
- Degree‑level qualification or equivalent professional experience in Project Management, Education, Social Care, Business Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to project management or service improvement.
