What you'll be doing
Hold periodic project reviews and update the Digital Briefcase Ensure the team maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc.)Prepare and present both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders

Ability to interrogate designs and challenge inputs and deliverables

Ensure reports provide relevant information to enable decisions to be made which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall business strategy

Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation

Accountable for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees and supply chain

Carry out Safety & Environmental Tours/promote observation and safety initiatives

Lead Accident/Incident Investigations Monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement actions

Review RAMS and accepting subcontractor RAMSDevelop H&S plan and ensure it is treated as a live document

Ensure sufficiency and competency of workforce

Management and empowerment to allow teams to set people to work Upskilling and mentoring of others

Coordinate and manage all project activities and internal functions

Identify and control resource to deliver works

Develop, implement and update resource allocations plans and raise appropriate requests

Produce plans for the team to achieve goals/aspirations

Develop high performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and performance management

Lead risk/opportunity reviews, ownership of the Risk Register and recommend/implement changes

Log and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at delegated level of authority

Manage subcontractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that contractual arrangements are achieved

Ensure procurement plans are available in line with the overall project plans, such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines

Ensure all work is undertaken with a view towards handover and certification

Accountable for KPI’s in line with project objectives and monitor performance

Ensure assurance activities (audits) are undertaken and take appropriate action on findings

Lead working groups on focused improvement areas

Develop, implement, review and periodically update resource loaded schedules

Ensure team adopt productivity and project controls techniques

Monitor progress and implement Short Interval Control processes/hold weekly meeting
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:

Experience of working on a variety of project types

Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery

In depth understanding a roficient in commercial/project management communications

Experience in implementing safe systems of work

Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation

Communicate new concepts and ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Effective team management skills which empower, influence & inspire others to build effective teams. Providing mentoring and support to members of the team where required

Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics

Record of a solution-based approach to problem solving

Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team Discuss ideas and plans competently and with confidence

Sponsor and promote project diversity and inclusion

Recognise and drive personal development with a learning mindset

Member of a professional management body i.e. APMProficient on O365

Holds a current driving licence

The role holder is likely to have one or more of the following:

Formal qualification in project management or equivalent experienceCSCS and SMSTS or Equivalent
