Youll be joining our Projects Team, we are seeking a Contract Manager to lead contract management and project delivery within our Civils Projects division in the East.

Reporting to the Regional Director, this role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of multiple civil engineering projects, managing resources and fostering a culture of excellence. Want to come and be a part of it? What will you be doing? You'll lead and manage multiple civil engineering projects, accountable for up to £30m turnover per annum across several clients.

Overseeing contract budgets, ensuring commercial success through effective forecasting, cost monitoring, and adherence to financial procedures. Demonstrate strong understanding of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, ensuring all obligations are met and managing contract requirements, including programmes and change control. We'll ask you to deliver monthly operational and financial reports, promoting transparency and stakeholder engagement. Providing inclusive leadership, guidance, and mentorship to staff across multiple sites.

You'll conduct fair and regular performance reviews, address employee matters empathetically, and ensure all team members have the resources and support needed to succeed. You'll manage the tender process for assigned projects, supporting the development of inclusive tender strategies. Ensuring bids are prepared with adequate resources and consideration for health, safety, and environmental issues. Its vital you lead on safety, quality, and environmental matters, promoting a culture of respect, safety, and inclusion.

Implement company systems to ensure a competent and diverse workforce, including subcontractors, delivers work safely and economically. Drive performance management and continuous improvement against key business targets: operational, financial, people, health/safety, quality, environmental, and client satisfaction. Collaborate with project teams and the wider business, valuing diverse perspectives. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring open and inclusive communication. Engaging with stakeholders and communities, fostering positive relationships and inclusive project delivery.

You'll support regional and national business development activities, identifying and pursuing opportunities that promote diversity and inclusion. Develop and embed sector strategies aligned with the business plan. Manage the supply chain strategically, promoting fair opportunities and inclusive practices. What youll bring HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related subject. Demonstrable experience in civil engineering, ideally across both strategic (e.g., Highways England) and local (e.g., Local Authorities) highway networks.

Commitment to high standards of health, safety, and environmental protection. Proven ability to manage contracts from tender through to completion. Thorough understanding of CDM roles and SHEQ duties. Recognised site safety management qualification (e.g., SMSTS or IOSH Managing…
