Commercial Manager

We're looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Sizewell C Major Civils Framework team based in Suffolk.

Location: Suffolk / Sizewell C
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Kier has been appointed as a delivery partner on the Sizewell C Major Civils Framework, supporting one of the UK's most strategically important low-carbon energy programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the commercial function across framework activities, providing visible leadership, contract expertise and commercial governance. You'll work with in a collaborative environment on nationally significant nuclear infrastructure, major roads and complex civils delivery, helping to establish commercial controls and contractual arrangements for current and future projects.

As a Commercial Manager, you'll be working within the Sizewell C framework team, supporting them in delivering disciplined commercial leadership and robust contract administration. Your day to day will include:

• Leading and developing the commercial team, ensuring competent resources are available for current and future task orders
• Administering NEC contract requirements, managing notices, early warnings, compensation events and contractual records accurately and on time
• Establishing robust commercial controls including cost capture, forecasting, cashflow management and applications for payment
• Managing subcontract procurement and financial administration, ensuring appropriate contract strategy and change control
• Providing clear commercial performance reporting and protecting Kier's commercial position while maintaining collaborative relationships

This role of Commercial Manager is great for you if:

• You hold a degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• You have demonstrable commercial management experience in complex civil engineering, major infrastructure, highways, energy or regulated project environments
• You have strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly target cost arrangements, compensation events and payment mechanisms
• You possess strong financial and commercial acumen, including cost reporting, forecasting and value recognition
• You're an excellent communicator who can confidently engage with project teams, client representatives, supply chain partners and senior leadership
