Production Operative / Forklift Driver - We're currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join our client based on the outskirts of Ipswich, Suffolk on a temporary basis for up to 7 weeks!

About the Role:

This is a hands-on role focused on supporting day-to-day production activities, material handling and keeping the fast-paced production area running smoothly and safely.  You will support the daily operations and ensure physical handling tasks such as raw material bags, packaging, area upkeep — are carried out safely, on time, and to the right quality standard, so the team can hit its daily production targets.

Hours for first week is 8am
-5pm and then it will be the shift pattern 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm. Starting pay rate is £16.43.

Key duties:

Handle and move raw materials and packaging materials as required
Support batch preparation and general production tasks
Help the team meet daily production targets by keeping pace with the production schedule
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area
Record basic operational data such as time logs and material counts when required
Follow all health & safety procedures and PPE requirements
Communicate any issues, delays or concerns to the Operations Lead
Provide support across different tasks as workload demands

Requirements:

Full Forklift Truck license – accredited Counterbalance licence
Trained on manual handling
Capable to re-stack 1,000kg pallets
Handling and weighing 25 kg bags
8h per day + flexibility for additional hours if required
Reliable, motivated and willing to work in a hands-on production role
Physically fit and comfortable carrying out repetitive manual handling tasks
Basic written English for simple data recording
Previous manufacturing, warehouse or logistics experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Must hold a full driving licence and have access to own vehicle – this is essential
