Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich invites applications for the role of Team Vicar in the Forest Heath Team. Set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, the Forest Heath Team is a vibrant and exciting place for ministry in the town of Beck Row.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing pastoral care and outreach across the communities within the team, complementing existing Lightwave projects to make the church more accessible and encourage growth. You will share duties with other team members, lead services and provide pastoral support to parishioners and staff.
We Are Seeking a Gifted Priest Who Will Be
- A person of deep faith and spirituality able to relate the faith to all ages.
- A person with a heart for rural ministry who is also able to work in a more urban environment.
- A person who relates well to people across the age range, especially children and young people, and who is committed to the pastoral care of all.
- A person who is happy and willing to be involved in the life of our communities, joining with the existing Lightwave projects in helping the church become more accessible and encouraging growth.
- A good communicator who can work cooperatively within the Forest Heath Team as well as leading in their own parishes.
- A person who will respect the diversity of the individual parishes while promoting their cooperation.
Our clergy are supported by experienced team members and by a dedicated laity who assist with services and other duties across the group. The diocese is committed to ensuring a realistic and healthy work/life balance, providing the resources and opportunities for clergy to develop their ministries.
We welcome clerics who are particularly drawn to the area of East Anglia, which is enriched by the presence of two large United States Airforce bases, offering the opportunity to serve a diverse community of service personnel and families.
