Quality Control Technician (QCT)

- Conduct field and lab tests on concrete and aggregates (slump, compressive strength, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with ASTM, BS EN, and local standards.
- Analyse data and produce detailed reports.
- Inspect raw materials (cement, sand, limestone, admixtures) and monitor deliveries against specifications.
- Guide junior technicians and review test results.
- Maintain accurate logs, calibration records, and databases.
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Follow safety protocols and regulatory standards; report near misses and ensure safe working practices.
- Collaborate with contractors and quality managers; conduct site visits and sample collection.
- Uphold the EDF Code of Conduct for Sizewell C, ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures.
- Liaise with contractors and internal teams to meet customer expectations.
- Report defects or issues affecting product quality or safety; maintain site cleanliness, security and professional standards.
- Support investigations into product issues and site practices; challenge unsafe or non‑compliant behaviours.
- Transport test specimens as required.
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental compliance.
- Level 1 Award Training CSCS certification for construction sites.
- Triple Bar Nuclear New Build qualification.
- NVQ qualification in a relevant field.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
