We recognise that our success, and future success, is tied directly to our people. We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Company in Ipswich, Suffolk.

About the Role

This role is responsible for driving quality performance across the supplier base through incoming inspection activities, supplier quality assurance, problem resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, the successful candidate will help ensure the consistent supply of high‑quality components that meet engineering, manufacturing and customer requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Owning supplier measurement processes and inspecting incoming goods to engineering drawings and specifications to confirm conformance
  • Logging all supplier quality issues and where appropriate issuing requests for corrective / preventative action
  • Working with production line personnel for supplier related line failures
  • Logging all supplier quality issues and controlling non‑conforming products
  • Provide quality‑related technical support and guidance to internal departments, suppliers and other stakeholders
  • Driving FMA activities reviewing quality history, design & PFMEA as required to ensure engineering commodity Design Verification Plan robustness
  • Reviewing warranty data, investigating RCCA aiming for highest customer satisfaction
  • Analyse supplier and quality performance to identify trends, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications and quality documentation to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and company requirements
  • Lead problem resolution and root cause activity with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply of assured parts
  • The returning, tracking, and documenting of rejected goods to suppliers
  • Interfacing with various engineers & departments to ensure suppliers are fully supporting effective operations
  • Develop quality planning APQP/PPAP activity plans for new projects and supplier visits
  • Management of PPAP activities, including parts readiness, agreeing part quality standards & part approvals
  • Supplier audit & assessment conducted against programme timing
  • Support and participate in internal quality system and process audits, as required
  • Ensuring application approvals are complete with relative parties with identified with PPAP & NPI
  • Support purchasing strategy through quality planning and data analysis development
  • Own, monitor and present key supplier quality performance metrics, including supplier PPM, corrective actions, non‑conforming material trends, PPAP status and other relevant KPI data, including at the company’s M4 meeting
  • Recommend and support improvements to quality processes, procedures, documentation and data collection systems
  • Other reasonable duties as required
Qualifications
  • Educated to a minimum of HNC level (or equivalent) in an Engineering or other relevant technical discipline
  • A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related discipline would be advantageous
  • A minimum of two years’ relevant experience within a Quality environment is essential
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Good working knowledge of quality standards and systems, including ISO
    9001 or the equivalent standard
  • Ability to successfully conduct supplier‑based audits and support procurement onboarding
