Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week; you may work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) if desired.

We schedule your contracted hours within these availability windows with 3 weeks' notice of shifts. We support flexibility; if your availability closely matches our advertised times, we will consider your application.

Responsibilities
  • Help serve shoppers better every day.
  • Meet great people, learn new things and be part of a specialist, diverse team where everyone is welcome.
  • Provide high-quality customer service.
  • Work across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
  • Apply training to work safely, effectively and serve customers brilliantly.
  • Make decisions that are right for customers, delivering routines in store to meet needs at the right time.
  • Participate in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
  • Be knowledgeable about your store's performance, understanding your role and collaborating to drive service, sales, reduce waste and shrink and deliver profit.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
  • Live our values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow policies.
  • Accept deliveries into the store when required.
  • Deliver great service, greet customers with a smile and pride.
  • Build rapport with customers so they leave a great shopping trip.
  • Take initiative and make decisions that are right for customers.
  • Work well within a team and communicate openly.
  • Build relationships with colleagues, creating team spirit, having fun and celebrating success.
  • Be on time, well presented and ready to be a brand ambassador.

Eligibility
  • Must be over 18 to apply.
  • We will accept candidates only over the age of 18 if the role requires working before 6:15‑am or after 9:45‑pm or involves work in the warehouse, beer, wine, spirits, counters, bakery or driving roles.
