Business Development Manager

Full-time, Permanent

Ipswich, Cambridge and surrounding area

About the role

Lead the charge in growing our presence in the Out of Home (OOH) channel for a leading confectionery brand. Own a blank‑canvas territory and build success from scratch.

What you’ll be doing
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across OOH sectors including leisure, healthcare, education, workplace, and defence sites
  • Visit sites such as soft play centres, theme parks, universities, canteens and contract caterers to pitch and activate opportunities
  • Influence decision‑makers with range advice, merchandising support and display solutions (counter top units, POS)
  • Support product launches, sampling and seasonal activations (e.g., Freshers events)
  • Use data and insight to advise on visibility, availability, and points of interruption
  • Manage your diary to balance prospecting, meetings and activations
  • Record activity via tablet and maintain organised client records (Excel/spreadsheets)
What we will offer you
  • £27,000 to £30,000 per annum + up to 20% bonus (£32‑36k OTE) + company car
  • Working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

What we’re looking for
  • A self‑starter with resilience and tenacity, confident in cold‑calling and sourcing new business
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage time, contacts, and pipeline development
  • Proven sales experience with success in new business wins (OOH/food service experience a plus)
  • Confidence with digital tools – Google Sheets, email, tablets, reporting systems
  • Full UK manual driving licence for at least one year
