Security Officer

Retail Security Officer – M&S Ipswich located at 14‑16 Westgate Street, Ipswich, IP1 3EF
. This part‑time role (20 hours per week, £14.90 per hour) requires a calm, customer‑focused security officer to maintain a safe, welcoming and secure environment.

• Operate in a fast‑paced retail environment, staying alert, responsive and ready to step in when needed.
• Deliver professional customer service by greeting shoppers and supporting colleagues.
• Keep our stores safe and secure by preventing loss, responding to incidents, identifying risks and supporting safe working practices.
• Use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body‑worn cameras, to support store operations and incident management.
• Remain calm under pressure, responding to challenging situations and supporting emergency procedures with professionalism and confidence.
• Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards, support operations and create a positive environment for everyone.
• Adapt quickly to changing situations and support the store when needed.

• Previous security experience is preferred.
• A valid SIA licence is desirable, although not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, confident and professional approach.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
• A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe.

All candidates must be able to provide a 5‑year checkable work history within the UK.
