Every child and young person deserves the opportunity to achieve their potential. As a Statutory SEND Services Coordinator
, you will play a vital role in helping ensure children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the support they need to thrive. Working on behalf of children, young people and their families, you will help shape decisions that can have a lasting impact on their education, wellbeing and future outcomes.

This is a rewarding role where your work truly matters. You will collaborate with families, schools, health professionals and colleagues across the Local Authority to ensure statutory SEND processes are delivered effectively, and children and young people remain at the centre of every decision.

• Coordinate and complete Education, Health and Care (EHC) Annual Reviews, ensuring statutory timescales are met
• Manage a complex caseload, balancing competing priorities and making sound professional judgments
• Act as the link professional for families, building strong, trusting relationships and providing clear communication and support
• Work on behalf of children and young people, ensuring their views are central to every decision made
• Collaborate closely with schools, health colleagues, social care and partner agencies to deliver coordinated support
• Identify and manage risk, ensuring safeguarding is always paramount

• The ability to remain calm, organised and solution‑focused when managing competing priorities and deadlines
• Experience working with or on behalf of children, young people and families
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to build positive relationships with families, schools, settings and partner agencies
• The ability to manage challenging or sensitive situations while maintaining professionalism and empathy
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively within a busy workload
• An understanding of SEND processes, legislation or related statutory frameworks, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge
• A commitment to ensuring the voices of children, young people and families are heard and reflected in decision‑making

The Statutory SEND Service is responsible for delivering the Local Authority's duties under the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice. The team works closely with education, health and care partners to help ensure children and young people receive the support they need to achieve positive outcomes. You'll join experienced and supportive colleagues who understand both the rewards and challenges of the role.
