Role Overview
Hybrid working and a warm welcome accompany this opportunity to work creatively with young people and their families. We are the Connect Team 0-18, a specialist therapeutic needs led service working with Children in Care and permanently placed across Suffolk. The team is based between Walker Close, Ipswich and Ickworth Lodge, Bury St Edmunds.
We are looking for a highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner (Band
6) who holds a nursing or social work registration. Experience working with children, young people and their families and carers, with knowledge of attachment, child development and systemic practice is especially welcome.
This is a fixed-term, maternity leave cover role advertised as 0.4 WTE for 12 months. Applications for 0.8 WTE for 6 months will also be considered.
Responsibilities- Undertake assessments and process referrals
- Participate in on-call duty and case management
- Conduct risk assessments and emergency safety planning
- Engage in multi‑agency consultations and collaborations
- Provide creative interventions with children and their families
- Work alongside families (foster carers, special guardians, adopters), social care, education and voluntary services to meet users’ needs
- Collaborate with other NSFT CYP teams such as Suffolk Wellbeing, Youth Teams, Child & Family Teams, ADHD services and the Emotional Wellbeing Hub
Qualified Mental Health Practitioner, Band 6, with nursing or social work registration. Demonstrated experience with children, young people, family systems, attachment theory and child development. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
