- Support PAs, Social Workers and Lead Professionals to identify housing risks early, provide case consultations, maintain risk trackers, and ensure every care leaver has a planned and sustainable housing pathway.
- Deliver training, housing surgeries, guidance and practice tools to build practitioner confidence in homelessness prevention, housing options, tenancy sustainment, affordability, statutory duties and the Leaving Care Housing Protocol.
- Work alongside practitioners on complex cases involving placement breakdown, eviction, rent arrears, sofa surfing or safeguarding concerns, coordinating multi-agency prevention plans and rapid responses when homelessness occurs.
- Liaise with housing authorities, providers and support services, unblock accommodation issues, support protocol implementation, identify emerging trends and risks, and drive continuous improvements to outcomes for care leavers.
- Knowledge of housing, homelessness prevention, safeguarding and relevant legislation, or the ability to develop this quickly.
- Experience of supporting children, young people, care leavers or vulnerable adults to achieve positive outcomes.
- Strong communication and partnership-working skills, with the confidence to advise, influence and support others.
- The ability to build positive relationships with young people, colleagues and partner organisations.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage your own workload and respond to changing priorities.
- A commitment to improving outcomes for care leavers and young people at risk of homelessness.
- A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in housing, social care, youth support or a related field.
- The ability to travel across Suffolk as required.
- Desirable
- Experience of working within Children's Services, Leaving Care, Housing, Homelessness, Supported Accommodation or a related service.
- Experience of delivering training, advice or practice support to professionals.
Demonstrates expertise in housing, homelessness prevention, and safeguarding, with a strong focus on supporting care leavers and vulnerable individuals. Proven ability to build partnerships, deliver training, and manage complex cases effectively.
