Senior Social Worker – CP/CIN Team

Suffolk County Council is looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their CP/CIN Team based at Beacon House in Ipswich.

This is a high-demand service, offering an excellent opportunity for a confident Senior Social Worker to manage a varied caseload and work with children and families requiring statutory intervention and support.

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families.
• Manage a caseload of children and young people with complex needs.
• Hold Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases.
• Develop, implement and review effective care plans.
• Work collaboratively with children, families, professionals and partner agencies.
• Ensure children’s needs, welfare and safeguarding remain central to all decision-making.
• Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, reviews and multi-agency discussions.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory requirements.
• Work in accordance with relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures and local authority policies.

• Social Work England (SWE) registration.
• Recognised Social Work qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience working in Social Work roles within a UK English Local Authority.
• Strong experience managing CIN and CP cases.
• Previous experience working within a children’s social care environment.
• Excellent assessment, analysis, report-writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a high-demand statutory service.
