Python Developer

Location: London or Ipswich - 4 days per week onsite

Contract Rate: £420 per day inside IR35

Our client is seeking a Python Developer to develop and maintain automation solutions, backend services, and tooling supporting large-scale telecom network operations. Working closely with QA, Network Engineering, and Dev Ops teams, you will build REST APIs, automation scripts, and data-driven applications that improve testing, monitoring, and operational efficiency across 5G and enterprise platforms.

• Develop and maintain Python-based automation frameworks and scripts for network testing, data processing, and operational workflows.
• Build RESTful APIs using Flask or FastAPI.

  SQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Develop and maintain Docker-based applications and environments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Git Lab CI/CD.
• Write Linux shell scripts and manage deployments on Linux servers.
• Integrate with telecom network systems and APIs for validation, monitoring, and health checks.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and error-handling solutions.
• Collaborate with QA, Network Engineering, and Dev Ops teams to deliver scalable automation solutions.

• 4+ years of Python development experience in automation or backend development.
• Experience building REST APIs using Flask or FastAPI.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Jinja

• Strong Linux administration and Bash scripting skills.
• Experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
• Jenkins or Git Lab CI/CD experience.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Knowledge of Python libraries including requests, paramiko, subprocess, schedule, and pandas.
• Understanding of HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, and API integrations.
• Telecom or network automation experience, including 4G Core, 5G, or Service-Based Architecture (SBA).
• Experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Knowledge of Open Stack and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Experience with Pytest, Selenium, or Playwright.
• Knowledge of Grafana, ELK Stack, or Prometheus.
• Agile or Scrum experience.
