Ipswich Town Football Club are offering X2 placement opportunities for the 2026‑27 season within the performance analysis department for the Category 1 academy. These opportunities are available to students who are completing a ‘Sandwich Placement’ course where a student internship is required as a mandatory part of their degree programme (as per government guidelines). Successful applicants will gain extensive exposure in using performance analysis to support the development of academy players within a professional football environment.

These are unpaid opportunities as a mandatory part of a degree program.
Roles and Responsibilities- Capturing & coding academy fixtures in line with Club Methodology & player Individual Action Plans (IAPs)
- Capturing & coding academy training sessions in line with Club Methodology & Individual Action Plans (IAPs)
- Producing and delivering regular video content relevant to team & unit performance to selected academy age groups
- Producing and delivering regular video content relevant to player individual action plans to selected academy age groups
- Coding best practice content from academy fixtures and training sessions
- Coding Elite Best Practise in line with Club Methodology & Player Profiles
- Be involved with internal and external CPD practices
- Be involved with individual and department meetings where required
- Currently completing an MSc Performance Analysis or related degree course (Essential)
- A full driving licence with the ability to commute to the club’s training ground (Essential)
- An enthusiasm for using performance analysis to support player development (Essential)
- A desire to work in professional football (Essential)
- Previous placement experience working within a performance analysis‑based position (Desirable)
- Previous experience of using analysis software (Desirable)
