Transport Operator

Time Appointments are currently recruiting on behalf of a growing business based in Ipswich, who are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Operator to join their team.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar role and the motivation to make an impact within a company.

Skills & Experience Required:

* Minimum of 3 experience in Transport Operating

* Familiar with VBS Systems Destinat8, Truckcom or Tops

* Confident of running a sheet of trucks from profit

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Key

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Routing and planning of containers and dedicated subcontracted haulage suppliers with consideration for delivery time, driving hour’s legislation and vehicle operating restrictions, whilst maximising productivity at least cost

* Booking VBS slots in accordance with work requirements

* Inputting data on the in-house system to create job files

* Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, including drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations

* Communicating with drivers, dispatchers, and team members to ensure efficient daily operations.

* Responding to customer inquiries, resolve service issues, and ensure agreed service levels are consistently met

* Utilising traffic management systems to monitor vehicle locations, shipments, and route adjustments
