Class 2 HGV Driver

Job description:

TSR are seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 Truck Drivers to join our logistics team across Suffolk (Ipswich, Felixstowe, Bury St Edmunds, Eye, Thetford).

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle safety and compliance.

Experience with flatbed, Curtainsider and Multidrop and commercial driving is highly desirable, and a strong focus on customer service is essential.

We are looking for reliable drivers for day, night and trampers to work Monday to Friday with possible weekend work.

Responsibilities

* Safely operate curtainsider, tipper, flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to specified locations. (if you have Hiab, ADR, Moffett and or Tail lift ticket these could prove beneficial)

* Ensure planned routes are effective supporting timely deliveries while adhering to legal driving hours and safety regulations.

* Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.

* Secure cargo properly, ensuring load stability during transit.

* Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies.

* Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.

* Follow all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during every journey.

* Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.

Qualifications

* Proven experience as a class 2 driver is essential, preferably with multidrop driver experience.

* Valid UK driving licence suitable for heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or lorry licences as required. Maximum of 6 points for minor offences (No DD, DR IN, TT or CD offence codes)

* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.

* Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as securing loads on truck type.

* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan own driver hours.

* Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.

* Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including early mornings or late evenings if necessary. This role is ideal for motivated individuals committed to safe driving practices and delivering exceptional service within the logistics industry.

* Minimum 12 months HGV driving experience
