Position: TRAINING DEVELOPER & FACILITATOR – TOURISM & CULTURAL INDUSTRIES

Employment Type: Contract – project cost basis

Location: Nunavut – travel to communities required

About the Role

We are seeking a Training Developer and Facilitator with experience in Indigenous tourism and cultural industries for a contract role. You will design and deliver career-readiness training and professional development programs for tourism service providers, artists, and cultural industry workers.

This role involves regular travel to communities across Nunavut. You must be adaptable, self-sufficient, and able to deliver high-quality training in diverse community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop curriculum and training materials for tourism providers, visual artists, musicians, sculptors, and performers
  • Design and deliver hands‑on training workshops across communities
  • Coordinate logistics with suppliers and venue providers for workshop delivery
  • Administer participant registrations, fees, and travel arrangements

    Develop public workshops on community-based tourism and cultural development
  • Deliver professional development programs for sector officers and practitioners
  • Provide skills development for artists across multiple disciplines
  • Facilitate community readiness training for local tourism service providers
Requirements
  • Experience in curriculum development and training delivery
  • Experience with Indigenous tourism or cultural industries training
  • Strong facilitation skills with diverse audiences in remote and community settings
  • Experience managing travel and logistics for multi-community programs
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to community contexts, and meet tight timelines
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Nunavut communities
  • Knowledge of Nunavut arts, cultural, and tourism sectors
  • Degree or diploma in Education, Adult Learning, Tourism Management, Indigenous Studies, or related field
  • Proficiency in Inuktitut or Inuinnaqtun
