NTEP Inuktut Language Instructor

Shape the future of education as a full-time Instructor for NTEP Inuktut Language and Culture in Iqaluit, NU. Deliver engaging courses and enhance student bilingualism and cultural competence.

The position is under the supervision of the Manager of Teacher Education Programs, focusing on teaching Inuktut and enriching the teacher education curriculum. You will design and assess courses at the Nunatta Campus and various field locations across Nunavut. Additional subjects include Inuit History and teaching methods, aimed at promoting comprehensive educational development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver Inuktut language courses for future teachers

• Assess student progress and course effectiveness

• Integrate Inuit culture into teacher education programs

• Teach additional subjects, promoting holistic education

• Collaborate with Memorial University's Faculty of Education

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field

• Fluency in oral and written Inuktut

• Experience in instructing adult learners

• Familiarity with Inuit cultural studies

• Resident of Iqaluit per job restrictions
