Power Generation Plant Operator

Drive operational safety in Iqaluit, Nunavut as a Plant Operator with Qikiqtaaluk Region-South. Monitor power generation systems and ensure maintenance for efficient energy production.

As a Plant Operator, you will report to the Production Supervisor and play a crucial role in monitoring control room operations, conducting routine maintenance, and assisting maintenance crews. Your expertise will also guide new trainees, ensuring compliance and operational excellence in the power generation facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor control room for safety during operations

• Conduct routine maintenance on generation systems

• Assist maintenance teams with project and labor management

• Provide training and support to new team members

• Ensure safety equipment is compliant and up-to-date

Requirements:

• High school diploma required

• Valid class 5 driver’s license with clean record

• Six months minimum experience in power production

• Power Engineering certification is preferred

• Understanding of Nunavut culture is an asset
