Municipal Enforcement Officer

Position: Full-Time Municipal Enforcement Officer
Serve the community as a full-time Municipal Enforcement Officer with the City of Iqaluit, focusing on enhancing public safety through rigorous law enforcement.

In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Sergeant to enforce the municipal by-laws and various Territorial Acts. You will engage with diverse community members, investigate incidents, and represent the municipality effectively in court. Strong communication and investigation skills are essential for fostering community relations and ensuring adherence to laws.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce laws and municipal by-laws efficiently

• Conduct public safety inspections and interviews

• Draft reports and represent the municipality legally

• Collaborate with community to enhance awareness

• Manage interactions involving domestic animals

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education or the equivalent

• Valid Nunavut Class 5 Driver’s License

• 1-3 years’ relevant law enforcement experience

• Clear Criminal Record Check necessary

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and report writing
