The Role
Barber – Civilian Deployment Contract (Overseas, 6‑month term)
The Barber is part of an enthusiastic team that provides hair cutting, styling, and grooming services to Canadian Armed Forces members and partner nations. The role includes cutting, trimming, and styling hair; trimming beards and moustaches; analyzing hair and scalp conditions; providing grooming advice; and contributing to morale through recreational activities.
Responsibilities- Cut, trim, and style hair to customer preference or prescribed military styles.
- Trim beards and moustaches, analyze scalp conditions, and advise on treatments.
- Assist with recreational activities and events to support morale.
- Maintain a professional and respectful grooming environment for deployed personnel.
- High school diploma.
- Barber certification (Province).
- Valid driver’s license (Province).
- Canadian citizenship and valid Canadian passport.
- Experience working in a barber shop or salon, cutting and trimming to standards, shaving and shaping beards and moustaches.

- Completion of health, dental, and psychosocial assessment.
- Security screening.
- Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Position type:
Civilian deployment contracts (6‑month term).
Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years.
Hours of work:
Maximum 56 hours per week, including weekdays and weekends.
Location:
Latvia.
- Tax‑free allowance: up to $1,756 per month (based on mission/location/date).
- Home leave and travel allowance (possible paid leave).
