Make a difference as a Community Health Nurse in Nunavut’s challenging environment. This full-time, permanent position focuses on care for mental illness and addiction.
As a key clinical leader, you will manage individual cases, conduct assessments, and provide crisis interventions for the community. Working closely with local healthcare providers, you will ensure clients receive the necessary support. This role also involves mentoring other nurses and shaping quality care practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement effective care plans
• Manage and assess ongoing patient cases
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor effects
• Engage in crisis intervention strategies
• Lead nursing staff mentorship and training
Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in psychiatric nursing
• Ability to register with the appropriate nursing body
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory criminal checks
• Experience with Inuit communities is a plus
Contribute to improving mental health outcomes and community support in Nunavut.
