Research Analyst – Tourism & Cultural Industries

Employment Type: Contract – hourly rate

Location: Nunavut – travel required as projects arise

We are looking for a Research Analyst with expertise in tourism and cultural industry data for a contract role. You will design, deliver, and analyze research initiatives that support strategy development, economic impact measurement, and program planning. You must be able to respond to project requests promptly and deliver quality research within agreed timelines. Some travel within Nunavut may be required.

• Design and administer visitor surveys and data collection tools
• Develop and improve data collection systems and management structures
• Monitor and report on economic impacts of tourism and cultural industries
• Develop market assessment reports across tourism and arts sectors
• Conduct market impact assessment studies
• Design industry report templates on the state of tourism and arts
• Coordinate data collection with relevant industry stakeholders and channels
• Develop household survey tools and manage data workflows

• Experience in tourism research, market research, or data analytics
• Proficiency in survey design and both quantitative and qualitative data analysis
• Experience with data collection in northern, remote, or Indigenous contexts
• Strong report-writing and data visualization skills
  
  Willingness and ability to travel to Nunavut communities as required
• Familiarity with Nunavut tourism landscape and programs
• Degree in Economics, Tourism, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field
• Experience working with government or public sector research programs
