This key role involves overseeing archaeological permits in collaboration with various stakeholders, including communities and government entities. You will support the development of the Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre and implement new archaeology guidelines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential in fostering relationships with Nunavut communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage archaeological permits and track submissions
• Support creation of the Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre
• Promote IHT’s archaeology permit guidelines
• Handle Elder Recognition Award and mentorship programs
• Liaise with communities and investigate site disturbances
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualifications
• Fluent in Inuktitut and English
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Experience in community outreach and program administration
• Commitment to cultural heritage preservation
