Campus Security Officer

Ensure safety at Nunatta campus as a Campus Security Officer in Iqaluit. Responsibilities include monitoring access points, patrolling, and assisting students and staff in a secure environment.

Reporting to the Manager of Security and Facility Maintenance, this position focuses on maintaining safety across various buildings including the Main Campus and residences. You'll greet visitors, monitor entrances, and assist with safety inspections. Responding to security calls and helping students navigate safety protocols is essential to the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor access to all campus buildings and residences

• Patrol premises to ensure safety and fire exit compliance

• Assist during safety inspections and familiarize with evacuation procedures

• Respond to safety calls from students and staff

• Submit incident reports to the Residence Manager

Requirements:

• High school Grade 10 minimum

• At least 1 year experience in security

• Class 4 driver’s license needed within 6 months

• Fluency in official languages of Nunavut an asset

• Background check required for trust position
