nasittuq supports operations across the north warning system (nws), a network of remote sites located throughout canada's arctic. Working in the north offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure while experiencing some of the country's most remote and remarkable landscapes.

what you'll do:
• operate and maintain heavy equipment used to support north warning system operations, including front-end loaders, dozers, graders, dump trucks, forklifts, snow blowers, and other mobile support equipment.
• maintain roads, runways, airstrips, grounds, and gravel surfaces to ensure safe access, operational readiness, and year-round site mobility.
• perform snow clearing, grading, surface maintenance, and groundskeeping activities to support safe transportation routes and aircraft operations.
• conduct daily equipment inspections, operational checks, and routine servicing to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and compliance with maintenance requirements.
• assist with the maintenance, minor repairs, storage, and documentation of mobile support equipment (mse) and associated vehicles.
• support site logistics activities, including fuel transfers, fuel inventory monitoring, vehicle cleaning, material handling, and sealift cargo distribution.
• load, unload, and transport equipment, materials, and supplies, including supporting helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft operations.
• respond to environmental incidents, site preservation requirements, and emergency situations in accordance with operational and safety procedures.
• identify equipment deficiencies and maintenance requirements and support preventive maintenance inspections and site maintenance activities.
• maintain accurate records, inspection reports, equipment logs, and operational documentation.
• collaborate with maintenance teams and site personnel to support ongoing facility, infrastructure, and operational requirements.
• perform additional duties and special projects as required to support the safe and efficient operation of remote arctic sites.
who you are:credentials:
• licensed heavy equipment operator with air brake endorsement (dz licence), or a valid class 3 driver's licence with air brake certification
• completion of safe backing training or the ability to obtain certification.
• valid driver's licence with a satisfactory driving record.
experience:
• experience operating heavy equipment in construction, road maintenance, mining, industrial, municipal, airport, or remote-site environments.
