Job Title:
Corporate Accountant
Company Overview:
At Diesel Laptops, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the commercial truck and off‑highway vehicle repair industry. Since our inception, we have been committed to providing cutting‑edge diagnostic tools, repair information, and world‑class training to our clients. Our mission is to empower technicians and repair facilities with the knowledge and tools they need to efficiently diagnose and repair vehicles, ultimately reducing downtime and improving profitability.
At Diesel Laptops, we pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment where every team member is valued and has the opportunity to grow.
Diesel Laptops is looking for a Corporate Accountant who’s not afraid to ask “why”—and who thrives when empowered to understand the full story behind the numbers. This role is built for someone with strong technical accounting skills, but also the business acumen to see how decisions ripple across departments, systems, and financial outcomes.
If you’re energized by fast‑paced environments, don’t want to be pigeonholed into one repetitive function, and care about the “how” just as much as the “what,” we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:- Own the monthly close process across multiple entities, ensuring timely, GAAP‑compliant results
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and key schedules with speed and accuracy
- Perform variance analysis and dig into operational drivers behind fluctuations
- Partner with department heads and leadership to translate data into decisions
- Maintain and improve the general ledger, ensuring clean, audit‑ready records
- Support the annual audit process, including external auditor collaboration
- Leverage ERP systems (Net Suite) and reporting tools to streamline workflows and reporting
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, cross‑training, and team mentorship as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required); CPA preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in industry, manufacturing, or a fast‑growth company
- Strong understanding of GAAP, month‑end close, financial reporting, and multi‑entity environments
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Net Suite preferred), Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.), and modern accounting tools
- Ability to operate with precision, autonomy, and a high degree of ownership
- A genuine curiosity for the “why” behind the numbers; this is not a drop‑in‑a‑box role
- Remote or hybrid work—this is an in‑office role in our Columbia‑area HQ
- A one‑size‑fits‑all job description—we’ve just restructured and we’re building a high‑performance team
- Government‑style pace or “clock‑in, clock‑out” culture; we move fast and expect impact
Join a company where accounting is seen as a strategic partner, not an afterthought. Help us build the future of diagnostic technology one journal entry, one close, one insight at a time.
