Job Summary
The X-Ray Technologist - Radiology (MI) utilizes independent judgment in performing diagnostic imaging procedures using proper patient positioning, technique, and radiation safety according to department protocols.
The CT Scan Technologist (MI) works under supervision of the Radiologist, utilizes computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issues.
Job Qualifications EducationFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Required:
Graduate of AMA/JCERT accredited Radiology Program.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesMinimum
Required:
One year experience in the Radiology profession with interest and willingness to learn CT. Must possess critical thinking and decision-making skills. Effective communication with patients, physicians, and staff. Knowledge of patient care techniques. Protects confidentiality of the patient and serves as a patient advocate at all times.

Minimum
Required:
One year experience as a CT Scan Technologist. Ability to work as a team member and utilize critical thinking and decision-making skills with an emphasis on attention to detail. Must demonstrate an understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology as it relates to Computed Tomography. Effective communication with patients, physicians and staff is required. Must maintain knowledge of patient care techniques to include proficiency in venipuncture techniques for intravenous line establishment and safe administration of contrast utilizing the power injector.
Protects confidentiality of the patient and serves as a patient advocate at all times.

Required:
BCLS Certification and current ARRT (R) registration or obtain registry within 6 months.

Required:
Current BCLS certification, current ARRT ( R ) registration, Obtain ARRT (CT) registry in Computed Tomography within one year.
Preferred/Optional: None
