Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer – Vertiv

The Quality Engineer will provide FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and control plans, drive continuous improvement, perform audits, and ensure performance meets workmanship standards. They investigate and lead corrective actions, plan and coordinate corrective, preventive, and technical controls of processes and products, and develop and implement an effective quality system related to manufacturing elements, including quality planning, receiving inspection, and quality management system audits.

• Lead the identification of problem root causes and develop/implement effective corrections and preventive methods.
• Participate in product and process development teams as applicable.
• Analyze various failure reports and recommend corrective action.
• Collect, analyze, and report on various measurement statistics and metrics.
• Maintain an interactive plant quality relationship focused on effective transition of product releases to a manufacturing quality support role.
• Facilitate creation of control plans, process flows, and PFMEA specific to new product development.
• Interface closely with Engineering, Service, Manufacturing, and Product Management to understand and improve product and service quality.
• Investigate and resolve QA projects as assigned.
• Ensure communication and interaction with Supplier Quality.
• Participate as auditor of the Vertiv Quality Management System.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• BA or BS or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or other relevant degree preferred.
• No bachelor's degree required if minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
• Driver’s license required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to design special tooling, develop and manufacturing processes, and assess new manufacturing technologies.
• Highly adaptable with the ability to learn and apply new skills quickly.
• Possesses a strong work ethic and sets high standards for quality and quantity of work.

• BA or BS or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or other relevant degree preferred.
• Driver’s license required.

• Heavy lifting (over 50 lbs).
• Frequent standing.
• Frequent kneeling/crawling/stooping.
• Frequent bending/twisting.
• Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders).

• Protective equipment required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, safety-toed shoes/boots).

• 10% domestic/international travel.
