Position: Pre-Vetter (Customer Service Liaison Officer)

Permanent / Full Time Irvine, Scotland

Office Based, with travel to sites across Scotland.

We are currently looking for an Access Pre-Vetter to join our team. This is a key customer‑facing role, supporting the successful delivery of utility projects by engaging with customers, landowners, and local communities ahead of planned works. The primary responsibility of the Access Pre‑Vetter is to visit properties, explain upcoming works, secure access permissions, identify access requirements, and ensure all necessary preparations are completed before work begins, helping projects run safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption.

You will play an essential part in promoting and maintaining a strong health and safety culture while delivering outstanding customer service, building positive relationships, and ensuring compliance with all company and client procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Promote, develop, and sustain a positive company wide culture focused on health, safety, and customer service excellence.
  • Identify, stop, and report unsafe situations that may pose risks to yourself or others; immediately elevate hazardous conditions to the office.
  • Conduct pre‑vetting of jobs, ensuring all preparatory requirements are addressed before works commence.
  • Map properties and mark access routes, gates, and entry points in alignment with agreed work maps.
  • Engage and liaise with landholders to secure permissions and maintain positive relationships.
  • Facilitate access to private and public properties ahead of scheduled works, ensuring smooth project delivery.
  • Review work instructions and grant access approvals for all relevant sites.
  • Inform local communities of upcoming works when applicable, fostering transparency and trust.
  • Manage customer interactions, addressing complaints and concerns related to works carried out.
  • Maintain accurate records of site conditions, ensuring documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Upload and organise access photos into designated server folders; capture plant images when required.
  • Report directly to the Department Manager, demonstrating goal orientation, teamwork, and determination to succeed.
  • Take ownership of daily work tasks as directed by management.
  • Participate in team briefs and toolbox talks, contributing to safety awareness and operational alignment.
  • Comply with company and client safety rules, ensuring adherence to all protocols.
  • Maintain a commitment to timely completion of work in line with specified requirements.
  • Complete all required paperwork competently, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Care for tools, equipment, PPE, and vehicles provided by the company, promptly reporting any defects.
Qualifications Required
  • Full driving licence - mandatory
Experience
  • Familiarity with DNO environments – is considered a strong advantage.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical regulations and proven ability to interpret engineering line diagrams accurately.
