Overview

Escape Recruitment is working with a growing manufacturing business to recruit a Buyer Expeditor to join their Supply Chain team. This is a busy, hands-on role focused on ensuring raw materials are available to support production, managing purchase orders, delivery schedules, inventory levels and supplier issues.

With significant business growth planned over the coming years, this is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Responsibilities
  • Raise and manage purchase orders for raw materials and components
  • Expedite orders and maintain regular communication with suppliers
  • Monitor supplier lead times and delivery performance
  • Manage inventory levels in line with agreed min/max stock parameters
  • Book and coordinate supplier deliveries
  • Update and maintain purchasing data within SAP
  • Respond quickly to changes in production plans and material requirements
  • Work closely with Production, Planning and Warehouse teams to resolve supply issues
  • Monitor forecast demand and ensure materials are available to support business requirements
  • Investigate and resolve shortages, delays and supplier-related issues
  • Support continuous improvement across purchasing and supply chain processes
About You
  • We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys building strong supplier relationships.
  • Previous experience within a purchasing, buying, expediting or supply chain role
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • A good understanding of MRP/ERP systems, ideally SAP
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and supplier management
  • Good Excel and general IT skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
