Overview
CPAClub Academy is the first-of-its-kind program in public accounting, designed to inspire and develop the next generation of CPAs. Unlike a traditional internship, CPAClub Academy offers a year-round, part-time, on-demand role where you’ll work alongside experienced CPAs and professionals, gaining real-world experience while continuing your education.
Upon successful graduation from CPAClub Academy, cadets will have the opportunity to accelerate their careers by joining CPAClub as full-time Crew members at an advanced pay scale.
Location
While CPAClub maintains a physical office in Irvine, CA, we are committed to a remote-friendly work environment. However, cadets must reside within 50 miles of Irvine, CA and commit to working in our office on a regular basis.
The Role
As a CPAClub Academy Cadet, you will support our CPAClub professionals in delivering high-impact accounting, advisory, and assurance services. Your assignments will span a broad range of activities, including:
- Preparing assurance or advisory work papers for public and private clients
- Consulting and researching technical accounting, auditing, or advisory issues
- Conducting pre-issuance reviews and post-issuance inspections of assurance engagements
- Supporting CPA firms undergoing a PCAOB inspection or AICPA peer review
- Composing quality control policies and procedures
- Developing training materials on relevant accounting, auditing, or assurance topics
The Qualifications
We are looking for motivated, high-performing students who are eager to build a strong foundation for their CPA careers. Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- High school juniors or seniors, undergraduate accounting majors, or graduate students pursuing an accounting-related degree
- Strong interest in pursuing a CPA license
- General knowledge and interest in technical accounting standards, assurance and attestation standards, business process improvement and SOX 404 standards, professional practice standards (independence, ethics, attestation, and quality control) and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, solve problems, and work independently
- Ability to interact with senior professionals and executives
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Willingness to embrace an entrepreneurial culture and adapt quickly
