We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our reputable personal injury law firm. • Settlement & Trust Accounting
  • Prepare settlement statements and breakdowns for clients
  • Process settlement distributions, attorney fees, and lien payments
  • Manage client trust accounts in full compliance with State Bar rules
  • Monitor incoming settlement funds and ensure proper allocation
• General Accounting Duties
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports
  • Perform bank and trust account reconciliations
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Work closely with leadership on financial reporting and budgeting
• Operational Support
  • Coordinate with case managers and attorneys regarding settlement updates
  • Communicate with medical providers regarding lien reductions and payments
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with firm policies
  • Assist with audits, financial reviews, and internal controls

Required:

• 2+ years of accounting experience (legal or PI firm experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, reconciliations, and financial entries
• Proficiency in accounting software (Quick Books, Cosmo Lex, Clio, or similar)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information discreetly
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred:

• Experience with personal injury settlements
• Trust accounting and IOLTA experience
• Knowledge of medical liens, attorney fees, and legal accounting procedures
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
