Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a growing team in Irvine, California. This contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented finance candidate who is highly organized, comfortable managing a large volume of invoices, and able to keep pace in a deadline-driven setting. In this role, you will help maintain accurate payables records, support timely vendor payments, and collaborate across departments to keep accounts payable operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a high volume of incoming invoices each week, ensuring entries are reviewed and processed accurately and on schedule.
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation to confirm proper approval, pricing, and receipt of goods or services.
• Investigate billing issues, resolve discrepancies, and respond to vendor questions with clear and timely follow-up.
• Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable balances to maintain complete and accurate financial records.
• Prepare and support weekly payment cycles, including ACH transactions and check disbursements.
• Maintain vendor data and payment documentation, ensuring records remain current and well organized.
• Partner with internal teams to confirm invoice coding, approvals, and supporting backup before payment is released.
• Assist with setting up and maintaining domestic and international vendor profiles in accordance with company procedures.
• Contribute to month-end close activities by providing accounts payable support, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Follow established accounting policies and internal controls to promote compliance and accuracy in all payable activities.
