Expected Salary Range for Position$65.33/hour - $139.51/hour
Your Role on the TeamThe staff physician (per diem) in Occupational Health is responsible for the provision of occupational health clinical services under the direction of the Medical Director of Occupational Health. Job duties include administration of employee-based medical surveillance programs, performance of pre-placement examinations, fitness for duty and return to work evaluations, and treatment and management of work-related injuries and illnesses.

Required- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of rules, regulations, and guidelines of various Federal or state agencies governing safety programs.
- Knowledge in conducting environmental health and safety audits.
- Skill in listening to, synthesizing information, and reaching sound conclusions.
- Skill in analyzing data for trends and needs.
- Skill in recognizing hazardous situations and taking appropriate corrective action.
- Skill in maintaining proper records and documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner including preparing and presenting reports to a variety of internal and external groups.

- Employee shall, when rendering medical services under contract, be unimpaired by drug or alcohol use and shall at all such times be capable of performing the essential functions of the appointment.

- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Must be able to travel to work sites throughout Orange County.
- Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. (
* This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, Association of American Colleges. Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic) - College of Accreditation on the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- Degree from Foreign Medical School: A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States.
* Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (external link), a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. - Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician in the state of California.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or other Acute Care Specialty. If not Board Eligible at the time of hire, must obtain Board Certification within one year of start date.
