Position: Science Instructor Tutor Bio Chem andor Physics up to AP

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking to hire an experienced Science instructor to provide instruction in science-related subjects ranging from Elementary School Science to High School AP Level Science. Your role is to provide instruction, create lesson plans, facilitate classroom discussions, evaluate student performance, and promote a positive learning environment. You will teach various science disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive lesson plans.
  • Demonstrate adaptability in teaching both one-on-one and in small group settings.
  • Assess students’ progress through regular evaluations, including tests, assignments, and participation, and provide constructive feedback to the students.
  • Communicate regularly with Masterprep Admin and Staff on student progress.
  • Prepare students for their AP Exams.
  • Provide homework help as needed.
  • Prepare students for science competitions.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or related field from an accredited college or university (required).
  • Master's degree in Science or related field from an accredited college or university (preferred).
  • 2 years' experience as a Science instructor or tutor (required).
  • Knowledgeable with AP Science (Bio, Chem, and Physics) content and tests.
  • Science competition knowledge (preferred).
  • Professional communication skills (both spoken and written).
  • Proven experience assisting students with essay review.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with a team.
  • Enthusiastic about working with students and parents.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented (attention to detail and accuracy are imperative).
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good planning skills.
  • Highly responsive.
  • Highly proactive.
  • Highly reliable.
  • Integrity.
  • Possible shifts are between M-F 3pm - 8pm and Saturday 9am - 5pm.
