Full Time. Salary Range: $65,400.00 – $86,300.00 per year.

Science at TVT

Department Mission: “We empower future STEM leaders to change the world through scientific knowledge, skills, and mindsets.”

Through the creation of authentic opportunities to explore science, the Department aims to promote scientific literacy in an environment that is hands‑on, collaborative, integrative, inquiry‑driven, and rooted in discovery. Science courses are designed to provide students with introductory knowledge in Earth, Life, and Physical Science, as well as science practices such as asking questions, using models, planning and carrying out investigations, analyzing and interpreting data, using mathematical and computational thinking, constructing explanations, engaging in arguments from evidence, and obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information.

  • Differentiate instruction to support a wide range of learners, including collaborating with the Student Support Team when needed.

Instruction & Engagement
  • Design and deliver engaging, inquiry‑driven lessons that integrate knowledge, skills, and innovation.
  • Create joyful, rigorous classroom environments that encourage resilience and risk‑taking.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to design real‑world, authentic learning experiences.
Assessment & Responsiveness
  • Use multiple forms of assessment, including performance tasks and authentic demonstrations of learning.

Professional Practice & Reflection
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, pedagogy, and school initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of adolescent development and pedagogical best practices.
  • Facilitate with educational technology and willingness to engage with emerging tools.
