Position Overview

Novel Prep is seeking a Academic Advisor fluent in Mandarin, Korean, and English to support our diverse student and parent population. This role focuses on providing individualized academic advising, maintaining strong parent communication, and guiding students through academic planning within the U.S. education system.

The ideal candidate is student-centered, culturally competent, and experienced in academic advising or education services, with the ability to align students’ academic needs with appropriate Novel Prep programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic advising to students in Mandarin, Korean, and English, based on student and parent needs
  • Support students with course selection, academic planning, goal setting, and progress monitoring
  • Conduct consultations with parents and families; communicate academic progress, concerns, and recommendations
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, program coordinators, and administrative staff to support student success
  • Introduce Novel Prep’s academic programs and educational products in alignment with students’ academic goals and needs
  • Recommend and guide families toward appropriate Novel Prep services, clearly explaining program value, structure, and expected outcomes
  • Support enrollment decisions by responding to program-related inquiries and coordinating with internal admissions or operations teams
  • Maintain accurate advising records, student reports, and individualized academic plans
  • Provide guidance on college preparation, enrichment opportunities, and academic pathways, as applicable
Required Qualifications
  • Professional fluency in Mandarin, Korean, and English (spoken and written)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Linguistics, International Studies, or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multicultural students and families
  • Experience in academic advising, counseling, education services, or student support (K–12 or higher education)
  • Ability to manage multiple student cases while maintaining attention to detail and documentation accuracy
