About

the position

UC Irvine School of Law invites applications for the role of Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Professor for the Spring 2027 semester, to teach one section of the school’s four-unit 1L Torts class. The recruitment is listed on the University of California AP Recruit system as Job #JPF
10355 under the School of Law.

Successful candidates will be appointed either Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Professor, depending on experience. The appointment is a visiting one tied to the Spring 2027 term at the Irvine campus.

Who can apply (basic qualifications)

The following qualifications are required at the time of application:

  • Applicants must hold a J.D. degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited institution.
  • Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • Applicants must be affiliated with the faculty of another law school and must have experience teaching Torts.

The requirement of an existing law-school faculty affiliation means this is a visiting appointment aimed at serving law teachers rather than an entry route into legal academia.
