Sr. Electrical Test Engineer / Electrical Test Technician
Location:
Irvine, CA (onsite work only). Visa: USC only. Position Type:
Contract or FTE.
Base pay range: $60.00/yr - $60.00/yr.
Requirements:
Avionics, Aviation, and Aerospace domain experience;
Qualified Graduate Engineer.
Hands‑on experience in a repair station, troubleshooting returned units in service.
Responsibilities- Do open box troubleshooting: observe and test circuit boards to identify non‑functioning portions.
- Run thermal and vibration testing with electronic units and oscilloscope monitoring on targeted data lines.
- Write and submit Engineering Investigation Reports/FARs to GAC via SEM.
- Learn to test for known issues with existing product lines.
- Develop troubleshooting tests for emerging issues with new and existing product lines.
- Interface with the Project Engineer to support technical meetings with customers and prioritize FARs to prevent AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations.
- Interface with GAR engineers to discuss findings and investigation status.
- Access R‑Card (repair shop data) and interpret test findings and failure observations noted on database and test data sheets.
- Work with the Materials and Processes lab to submit evaluation requests and interpret findings to the hydraulic component level.
- Collect, organize, and interpret all component test results, failure observations, SIL testing, engineering‑directed testing, and lab analysis.
- Provide engineering‑directed test and inspection instructions in R‑Card to assembly and test technicians in Ogden and Dublin to gather evidence and data to support discovery phase.
- Generate FARs per GAC approved format to present and correlate findings at aircraft level fault.
- Determine if failure mode is atypical and may need trend monitoring.
- Work performed at Customer Support Engineering office in Irvine, CA.
- Business travel to Savannah, Ogden or Dublin may be required; up to 5 days.
